    Greece's Pindus mountain range, often referred to as the spine of Greece, is a national treasure, home to some of the most potent plants on earth, including the uniquely resilient, centuries-old Black Pine tree. Black Pine bud shields the delicate meristematic tissues, ensuring growth, reproduction and the overall vitality of the tree, supporting the continuous renewal of the plant even in harsh environmental conditions. This powerful ingredient blossom every spring from April to June, preparing the tree for new growth and filling the Pindus Mountains with a breathtaking renewal of life and beauty. Under the guidance of the Directorate of Forests of Grevena we responsibly source by-products of timber production from the Black Pine, ensuring sustainable sourcing that puts parts of the tree that would otherwise be discarded to valuable use.

    KORRES has dedicated 15 years of studying the powers of perennial trees with the aim to decode their powerful defense mechanisms and transform them into cosmetic ingredients for robust, healthy-looking skin. The Black Pine Primus collection incorporates the superpower of the bud, responsible for the tree's renewal and new life. The Black Pine Bud is extremely delicate, making its collection and extraction a challenging process. For the very first time globally, KORRES employs a sustainable extraction method that utilizes 2x green technologies- Natural Deep Eutectic Solvents (NaDES) and Enzyme-Αssisted Εxtraction [EAE] to obtain Black Pine Bud Bioactive Extract*. These methods replicate the plant’s natural functions and behavior, resulting in an extraction process that is sustainable, chemical-free, and environmentally friendly. With this process we obtain a potent ingredient that is x3 times more concentrated in antioxidant compounds (polyphenols + flavonoids).

As for the color picked for the products of this line, orange, it is the color of optimism, happiness, enthusiasm and youth energy, none more suitable for a product line that advocates for these very same qualities.
